Profile

ByteNite is a grid computing system enhancing high-throughput applications like video encoding, 3D rendering, and computer vision. Through its 360-degree software, ByteNite enables companies to offload video processing activities on their own hardware assets by setting up a locally distributed network managed and monitored by a core grid scheduler.

ByteNite's Video Encoding Platform is capable of encoding at up to 20x speed, thanks to its chunk-based, parallel processing system that allocates GOPs to different resources and is programmed according to a patent-pending fault-tolerant algorithm.

Product Description

In February 2023, ByteNite released a state-of-the-art Video Encoding Platform powered by its fast and fault-tolerant grid computing system. On the platform, customers can harness incredible distributed computing power to get their encodings done with a speed of up to 20x. The enhancement is given by chunk-based, parallel video encoding: when a video upload is initiated, ByteNite streams video chunks to the next available resources in the grid according to an efficient allocation algorithm, creating up to hundreds of tasks that are encoded in parallel. This way, ByteNite is able to tackle the encoding complexity without requiring powerful instances and thus high expenses. ByteNite's pricing model is pay-per-use based on the output video minutes: customers can exploit the full potential of ByteNite's technology with as little as 1 cent and without any commitment.

ByteNite's Video Encoding Platform is deployed via a user-friendly web UI and a convenient API.

Through the web UI the customer can easily configure the video encoding parameters and submit, manage, and review their encoding jobs and monitor their spending. With ByteNite Encoding API, the customer can launch encoding jobs via command line or script and set up automated workflows that can be integrated into their applications and systems.

The distributed encoder currently supports all major formats (MP4, MKV, Webm) and codecs (H.264, H.265, VP8, VP9, AV1, ProRes, LCEVC), aspect and frame modifiers, 3 bitrate control modes, and HLS packaging.
